Situation Description

In the SmartPlayer personal account, when working with the Smart folder, it's necessary to debug the reception of data and settings on the FTP server. To do this, one must understand which settings to use in the personal account and how they interact with the FTP server.

Operating Principle

For debugging data transfer settings to the FTP server, the user needs to locate them in the SmartPlayer platform's personal account. In this case, the settings are specifically linked to the folder from which the content will be played, so they are located in the "Content" section.

Within this section, it's necessary to select a specific folder and in the sidebar that opens on the left, choose the "Rules" category.

Upon entering the "Rules" category, a small window will open in which you need to click on the "+" icon.

After clicking on the "+" icon, a full window with a list of settings will open. In this window, it's necessary to scroll down to the "Network Folder Connection" section.

By enabling the use of a network folder with the checkbox, the following parameters can be specified (these parameters are stored by the SmartPlayer server):

• Path to the network folder
• Login
• Password
• Data refresh interval from the network folder

To ensure that the "Login" and "Password" parameters work correctly on the server, validation for the fields "networkFolderLogin" and "networkFolderPassword" was added. This validation is applicable only for the Smart folder.

Interaction Between the Device, Personal Account, SmartPlayer Server, and FTP Server

All the parameters described above are used during the "communication" between: the device, personal account, SmartPlayer server, and FTP server. In this case, these parameters are stored by the SmartPlayer server.
After filling in the parameters described above in the personal account, the device uses the specified "Path to the network folder" parameter. The data of this parameter is stored on the SmartPlayer server and used as the path to the FTP server.
The next step is that the FTP server may require authorization using a login and password (the authorization process can be optional). After the authorization process, the device will gain access to the FTP server from which it will receive data.
The data will be updated at the duration of the interval specified in the "Data refresh interval from the network folder" parameter.
