Setting up an Android Box - SmartPlayer

Situation Description

A natural stage in the development of the SmartPlayer platform is the emergence of the Smart Box set-top box. This device incorporates all the advancements of the SmartPlayer platform and works with the client application for Android OS.

The Smart Box set-top box is designed according to modern requirements, so it does not have physical buttons. After connecting to a display and starting the device, virtual buttons will appear, allowing for convenient configuration. All device settings are managed at the client application level.

Setup Algorithm

When launched for the first time, the user will see a startup screen where they need to select one of the available languages:

• Russian
• English
• Spanish
• Portuguese
  

After selecting the desired language, the user can proceed with further setup. The startup screen provides two buttons:

• **Quick Start / Get started**
• **Settings / Configure**

Quick Start

When clicking the "Quick Start" button, the user will see a nine-digit code on the screen.

It is also possible to go to the settings screen by pressing the special "Open Settings" button at the bottom of the screen. This code is the device registration code, which can be entered in the SmartPlayer personal account in a specific section. Settings

Clicking the "Settings" button opens a new page where the user can access the following settings:

• Select screen orientation
• Specify server name

In the "Select screen orientation" setting, four preset options are available:

1. Horizontal (0°)
2. Vertical (90°)
3. Inverted (180°)
4. Vertical inverted (270°)
   

For the "Specify server address" setting, four preset options are also available:

1. api.smartplayer.org
2. ces-api.smartplayer.org
3. la-api.smartplayer.org
4. Other server (API connection is manually specified for the required server)

На данный момент устройство Smart Box имеет на нижней панели стандартный набор кнопок характерный для Android устройства:

• Кнопка "Включение/выключение устройства"
• Кнопка "Клавиатура"
• Кнопка "Уменьшения громкости"
• Кнопка "Увеличение громкости"
• Кнопка "Назад"

После проведения настроек устройства и подключения его к личному кабинету пользователь сможет использовать его по назначению и проигрывать на нём свой контент по определённому расписанию.
