Mass Device Update
Description of the Situation
The SmartPlayer team has improved another aspect of user interaction with the platform — device updates. Users now have access to mass device updates directly from their personal account. How to use this functionality is described below on this page.
How It Works
To use this feature, the user must register/log in to their SmartPlayer personal account.
After that, the user should navigate to the “Devices” section and select the “Update” category.

On the main page of the “Update” section, the user will see:
- Parameter blocks and a queue overview — two blocks are available: “Devices to be updated” and “Update tasks”.
- A list of configurable parameters — varies depending on the selected block.
- Device search system with a list of available devices.

To start configuring update parameters, select one or more devices.
Settings for the “Devices to Be Updated” Block
In this block, the user can configure the following parameters:
- Queue name — enter the name of the update queue as text;
- Update date — select the update date using the built-in calendar;
- Update time — select the update time from a predefined list;
- “Update now” checkbox — enables immediate update after the queue is created. Disables the “Update date” and “Update time” fields;
- Number of devices to update simultaneously — enter a numeric value. Minimum is two devices;
- Update timeout — enter the time interval between device updates in minutes;
- Update type — select one of the options from the list: client application or firmware;

After configuring the parameters, the user must click the “Create Update Queue” button. This action will take the user to the next block and open a new settings page.
Information for the “Update Tasks” Block
On the newly opened page, the user will see a table-like interface where queues are stored. Queues are displayed in a list within the table. Detailed information can be expanded using the down-arrow icon. Each queue in the table has the following columns:
- Queue selection checkbox — selects the queue in the personal account;
- Status — shows the current update process status;
- Progress — displays how many devices have been updated out of the total;
- Name — name of the current update queue;
- Update type — indicates one of the two types mentioned earlier;
- Date and time — scheduled date and time of the update;
- Message — additional information about the update queue;

- Deselect;
- Delete the queue;
- Cancel selection;
