Running on Matrox Graphics Cards
To run on devices with professional Matrox graphics cards, you need to install a SPECIAL BUILD of the client application, which can be requested from your SmartPlayer company manager.
Platform Hardware Limitations
Devices running Windows have the following hardware limitations:
- Having an enabled antivirus or firewall may affect SmartPlayer application performance.
- When reviewing the minimum system requirements for the device, users should understand that they are specified for the correct operation of the SmartPlayer application itself, without accounting for other programs and processes that also consume device resources. Therefore, it is recommended to have a device configuration with more powerful components than those specified in the minimum system requirements. Otherwise, stable operation of the SmartPlayer application and its components is not guaranteed.
Content Requirements
The Windows operating system can play content with the following characteristics:
- Resolution - up to 7680x3600
- Frame rate - up to 30 FPS
- Bitrate - up to 8000 kb/s
- Video format - MPEG-4
- Video codec - H264/H265/mp42/mp41
- Audio - MPEG-4 audio
Content Quantity Limitations
These limitations are specified for high-performance system configurations and near-ideal operating conditions
For Windows operating system, there are the following content quantity limitations:
- One 8K video (7680×4320)
- Two 4K videos (3840×2160)
- Four Full HD videos (1920×1080)
Content Playback in Synchronization Mode
Synchronization mode is an operating mode of devices within the SmartPlayer personal account where played content is synchronized between devices within one broadcast.
Requirements for Proper Synchronization Mode Operation
- "Synchronization" mode only works with devices on the local network. If devices for "Synchronization" mode are on different subnets, synchronization won't work
- Ethernet cable connection is recommended
- Using devices with identical hardware and system configurations is recommended. When using similar systems, "Synchronization" mode will work but issues may occur
- When multiple client applications operate in "Synchronization" mode, the start time and duration of each content must be considered, as well as the duration and number of pages
- The personal account must have a shared folder for client applications to enable synchronization mode
- Synchronization mode can only be enabled for a device group
- During synchronization mode operation, the "Master" device can disconnect any device from synchronization mode at any time by command
If a device or several devices don't have/didn't receive an IP address, synchronization won't work on these devices.
Content Features
- Web widgets and PDF content are synchronized only by playback start and end
- In synchronization mode, users cannot play broadcasts with content using an event model. This also applies to smart folders and "Advertiser" mode
