Situation Description
Inside the SmartPlayer platform, users have the ability to turn the device's display on and off through their personal account. This allows users to control device displays in online mode.
Operational Logic
Users can turn the device's display on and off at any time through the SmartPlayer platform via their personal account.
To do this, one needs to go to the "Devices" section and find the required online device.
Next, the user needs to click on the online device to see the sidebar with settings.
After the sidebar with settings appears, the user needs to select the "Settings" section and click on it.
By clicking on the "Settings" section, a comprehensive menu with settings will open for the user. From the list of settings that appear, the user needs to open the "Technical Parameters of COM Ports" block.
COM Port Configuration
When adding a COM port, the user needs to fill in all the fields in this block.
This block consists of the following parameters:
- Port Name - the only parameter to be entered manually by the user.
The other parameters are drop-down menus with a list of specified values and descriptions of these values.
- Data Transfer Rate
- Parity
- Data Bits
- Stop Bits
- Flow Control
- Action Selection
After setting all the parameters, it is necessary to click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom.
Appearance of New Setting
After saving all the settings related to the COM port, the user needs to return to the device sidebar. A new icon "Turn off/on display" will appear there.
Depending on the current state of the device, the color of its frame changes.
For example: while the device is on, the frame color is bright green. As soon as the device is turned off, the color of the frame changes to dark green.
All available device statuses can be viewed by hovering over the "Device Statuses" line.
Subtleties and Nuances
If the applied COM port settings are deleted using the button, then even with the display turned off, the device will be shown as online (having a green frame at the bottom). This is because, in the absence of COM port settings, there is no display monitoring on the device, and therefore it is shown as an online device.
Final Result
The user can turn the device display on and off in the personal account on Linux.
