Description of the Situation

The advertisement functionality within the SmartPlayer platform is continuously being improved. It is now possible to add advertisements to a specific zone within a broadcast using the internal settings of the SmartPlayer personal account.

As of 06.2026, the functionality is available on the Android platform and is being adapted for the Windows platform.

Preliminary Configuration

In this case, the preliminary configuration consists of creating and properly configuring a broadcast. The intended advertisements will later be added to the created broadcast.
To create the required broadcast, the user must register or log in to the SmartPlayer personal account.
The next step is to go to the “Broadcasts” section and select the “Create” category.

Next, the broadcast creation window will open, where the user must create the required number of zones for the planned broadcast.

After creating the required number of zones, the user must select the desired zone and configure the parameter called “Advertisement Zone Identifier”.

Clicking the field opens a list of available identifiers. The user must select and apply the required identifier to the selected zone.

If the required identifier is not available, the user can manually enter a custom value. The interface of the field will change and offer the option to add the required identifier by clicking the “Create” row.

After clicking the “Create” button, a modal window with an input field will open. After entering the value, the user must click the “Save” button at the bottom of the modal window.

To complete the identifier configuration for the zone, click the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen.

The same configuration process must be completed for all zones before finishing the broadcast creation.

Intermediate Stage

After creating the required broadcast with zones and identifiers, the user must assign this broadcast to a device and configure a playback schedule.

Advertisement Configuration

The user must navigate to the “Advertisements” section of the personal account and click the “Create” category.

After opening the advertisement configuration page, the user must find the “Playback Type” field and select the value “By Zones”. The user must also select content from the list below all parameters.

After clicking the “Next” button at the top of the screen, the user will proceed to the device selection page. The required device must be selected by checking the box in the upper-right corner.

After clicking the “Next” button again, the user will proceed to a page containing the list of zone identifiers. On this page, identifiers can be selected for the advertisement in one of the following ways:

• one zone;
• multiple zones;
• all zones.

Clicking the “Next” button proceeds to the final step — viewing the advertisement summary. If the user agrees with the displayed advertisement information and the system has detected no conflicts, the user can click the “Save” button at the top of the screen.

If conflicts are present, the user must first resolve the conflict described on the page.

Details and Nuances

This section contains a list of details and nuances related to the functionality of zone identifiers:

1. The following content types can be used for advertisements: images, videos, and audio. Audio will be played without visual accompaniment (the device screen will remain black).
2. A single advertisement can be assigned to multiple zones. Simply assign the advertisement to the required zones.
3. Preview functionality is not available for zone-based advertisements.
