Device Identification

Description of the Situation

Users may have a large number of connected devices. During use, it may not be clear which device is connected to which screens. To solve this, the SmartPlayer development team created a functionality that allows real-time device identification.

Action Algorithm

To start using the functionality, the user must register or log in to the SmartPlayer platform.
Then, the user needs to go to the "Devices" section of their personal account and select the desired device.

The device must be online.

The next step is for the user to click on the device and access the right toolbar.

In the right toolbar, the user should find two buttons:

• enable identification;
• disable identification.

When identification is enabled, an icon with an identifier appears on the selected device. When disabled, the icon disappears from the device card.

Device Information

When identification is enabled, a message with device data is displayed on the content output device (screen/monitor). This message shows the following information:

• device name;
• a list of company employees’ emails;
• a countdown timer showing how long the message will remain visible.
