Add Device Group

Description of the Situation

One of the categories in the “Devices” section is “Add Device Group”. In this section, the user can combine several devices available in the personal account into a group. This allows for more flexible and customized broadcasts, as well as increased variability of available functionality.

Algorithm of Actions

To add a device group, the user must log in or register on the SmartPlayer platform.
The next step is to go to the “Devices” section and select the “Add Device Group” category.

After clicking the button, a modal window will open where the user is prompted to enter a group name.

After entering the group name, click the “Save” button below.

After entering the group name and clicking “Save”, an empty device group will be created. It can be found in the “Devices” section by its name. Double-clicking the group allows entering it and viewing the main page of the device group. This page can be divided into several zones:

1. Page search zone.
2. Device list zone.
3. Additional features zone.

Page search zone

The page search zone allows flexible interaction with search, sorting, and filtering of devices within the group. This zone includes the following configurable parameters (listed left to right):

• search bar — allows finding a device by name;
• advanced search settings — allow more precise and detailed search using additional parameters. Each parameter includes a description. After setting the required parameters, click the “Search” button. To disable additional parameters, click the “Reset” button;

• sorting — a list of available sorting options for devices in the personal account;

• bulk device selection — functionality that allows selecting or deselecting all devices or device groups for further actions. Selected devices are marked with a checkbox icon;

• device display format — allows choosing how devices are displayed.

Device list zone

The device list zone includes all devices within the group.
If the group was created recently and does not contain devices, an instruction for installing the distribution and adding devices will be displayed.

If the group already contains devices, they will be displayed in the list.

When clicking or selecting a device in the group, the behavior is the same as for a device in the general list — the interface on the right side of the screen changes. In the opened toolbar, the device can be configured individually.
If the user selects devices via checkbox, the right-side interface will switch to bulk selection mode

Additional features zone

This zone replaces the right toolbar. The following functionality is available:

1. View device statuses (clicking the “Information” icon opens the full legend).
2. Add tags to devices.
3. Search devices by tags.

If a device is selected (by click or checkbox), this zone will change to display either device settings or bulk selection settings
