Description of the Situation

The “Device Updates” section of the SmartPlayer personal account provides functionality for updating devices linked to the account. In this section, the user can create update tasks and review the list of update tasks.

Action Algorithm

First, the user must register/log in to the SmartPlayer personal account.
Next, navigate to the “Devices” section and find the “Update” category.

Clicking on the “Update” line opens a page with device update functionality.

The main page is divided into two blocks:

  1. Devices for update.
  2. Update tasks.

Devices for Update

This section represents a full page with update parameters. The page can be divided into three areas:

  1. Device update configuration parameters.
  2. Device interaction area.
  3. Selected devices area (bulk selection).

Device Update Configuration Parameters

This area contains fields that the user must fill in.

The list includes the following parameters:

  • task name — enter a name for the task;
  • update date — set manually or via the calendar;
  • update time — set manually or via the time selector;
  • checkbox “Update now” — when enabled, the update task is executed immediately and disables date and time settings;
  • number of devices for simultaneous update — enter a numeric value (minimum — 2);
  • update timeout — enter a numeric timeout value in minutes;
  • update type — select one of the options: client application or firmware;
  • “Create update queue” button — creates an update task. Works only if at least one device is selected;

Device Interaction Area

The “Device Interaction” area consists of two blocks:

  1. Search and sorting parameters.
  2. Device list.

The “Search and Sorting Parameters” block includes:

  • search field — allows finding a device by name;
  • advanced search settings — enable detailed filtering with additional parameters. After setting parameters, click “Search”. To reset, click “Reset”;
  • sorting — list of sorting options for devices;
  • bulk selection — allows selecting or deselecting all devices or groups;
  • display type — allows choosing how devices are displayed;
  • additional marker — allows selecting a sorting marker via advanced search;
  • add filter — allows adding a filter for device sorting.

The “Device List” block displays devices and groups that can be selected for updates.

Selected Devices Area

This area displays information about selected devices for update.

Clicking the minus icon removes the device from the selection.

Device Update Tasks

This section is also divided into two areas:

  1. Task list area.
  2. Selected tasks area (bulk selection).

Task List Area

This area contains all update tasks with the following data and actions:

  • select task — select one or all tasks via checkbox;
  • status — available statuses: running, pending, completed, warning, error;
  • progress — displays progress (total tasks / completed tasks);
  • name — task name with date and time;
  • update type — client application or firmware;
  • update date and time — completion date/time;
  • message — task description.

Selected Tasks Area

Displays selected tasks. Appears after selecting at least one task.
Clicking “Action selection” opens available actions:

  • pause queue — stops selected tasks;
  • delete queue — removes selected tasks.

Any scheduled update can also be edited using the pencil icon.
