Description of the Situation

Tables can be used as content for devices. This article describes in detail how to work with this type of content within the SmartPlayer platform.

Algorithm of Actions

To use this type of content, the user must register or log in to the SmartPlayer personal account.
The next step is to go to the “Content” section of the personal account.

Next, select the content type — “Tables”.

The main page displays all available content of this type. The following actions are also available on this page:

  1. Creating new table-format content.
  2. Editing existing table-format content.

Creating new content

A new table is created in the personal account by clicking the “Add table” button.

After clicking this button, the page interface changes. The page displays:

  • column and row selection grid;
  • parameters for configuring the table, divided into separate categories.

Table size configuration

To correctly render the table grid settings, go to the “Table size” parameter and configure the following table parameters:

  • name — manually enter the table name;
  • number of rows — enter a numeric value for rows;
  • number of columns — enter a numeric value for columns;
  • row height — specify the height value in pixels for each row (select “Fixed” from the list). Default value — automatic;
  • row width — specify the width value in pixels for each row (select “Fixed” from the list). Default value — automatic.

After configuring the table size, the user must go to the grid and select a cell. Further parameter configuration will apply only to the selected cell in the grid.

Text settings

The parameter list contains the “Text” section, which controls how text is displayed in cells. The following text settings are available (described left-to-right, top-to-bottom):

  • font selection;
  • font size;
  • font color;
  • text alignment;
  • text position;
  • bold text style;
  • italic text style;
  • underlined text style;
  • cell text;
  • checkbox “Display as QR code”;
  • text movement direction (select from the list. Does not work when the checkbox above is enabled);
  • text movement speed (adjusted using a scale with a numeric speed value);
  • text display mode (horizontal / vertical).

Position settings

The parameter list contains the “Position” section, which controls cell positioning. The following settings are available (described left-to-right, top-to-bottom):

  • color (opens a color palette on click);
  • opacity (for the selected color);
  • margins (left / top / right / bottom);
  • line selection (available when selecting a border);
  • line color (opens a color palette);
  • border (select the required option from the list).

Special options

The parameter list contains the “Special options” section. This section includes the following settings:

  • behavior when text is too long (select an option from the list);
  • scroll speed (active if the previous setting is set to “Text scroll”).

Data settings

The parameter list contains the “Data” section, which allows uploading ready-made tables and reformatting them for playback. The following settings are available (described top-to-bottom):

  • delimiter (enter the required delimiter manually);
  • “Select file” button (allows selecting the required table from local storage);
  • encoding (select the encoding format from the list);
  • path (enter the file path from local storage);
  • checkbox “Remove extra spaces”;
  • checkbox “Remove empty rows”;
  • checkbox “Row processing”:
    • “From row” field;
    • “To row” field;
  • checkbox “Column processing”:
    • “From row” field;
    • “To row” field.

This row, located between the grid and the parameter set, contains three buttons:

  1. Cancel action — cancels all changes made to the cell parameters.
  2. Apply to selected — applies all changes to the selected cell.
  3. Apply to all — applies all changes to all cells in the grid.

Editing existing content

Editing existing table-format content is available through a special pencil icon.

After clicking this icon, the user will see the same settings as when creating table-format content.
