Situation Overview

SmartPlayer client applications now allow users to play YouTube streams directly from the application. Users now only need to find the required stream and launch it on the device.

How It Works

This functionality works on SmartPlayer client applications. Users can now play the YouTube stream they need on their device. All functionality is implemented on the client application side and works automatically. The user only needs to find the stream they are interested in and use it on the device.

When using this functionality, the user should be aware that YouTube playback is blocked in the territory of the Russian Federation. For the functionality to work correctly, it is necessary to use circumvention tools (VPN)

At the moment, YouTube stream playback is supported on the following client applications:

1. Android.
2. Windows.
3. Linux.
4. Raspberry Pi.

Client applications for webOs and Tizen OS devices are also currently being updated and will soon be able to use this functionality.
